De la Tour Eiffel à L’aéroport de Köln-Bonn: espaces redessinés par le designer Ruedi Baur

Expert européen en design urbain, Ruedi Baur a réalisé de nombreux projets d’identité visuelle, de signalisation, de systèmes d’orientation et d’information ainsi que de design urbain. Ses travaux se retrouvent dans toute l’Europe: Centre Pompidou et tour Eiffel à Paris, Parking de Merano en Italie et Médiacampus de Zürich.

Grâce à ces cas concrets, il nous offrira un point de vue unique sur les grands défis de la signalisation.

AVENIR DES CONCOURS AU QUÉBEC 11.11.2003

Répondant à une question de Z1 sur l'avenir des concours en design au Québec, le Ministère de la culture du Québec s'Est engagé à répondre par écrit dans une lettre ouverte qui sera publié sur notre site.

Des inquiétudes ont été soulevés suite à l'appel de candidature restreint pour la Bibliothèque de Longueuil.

INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION RESULT
Coptic Christian Village for Markham, Ontario
15.11.2003

Out of 64 entries submitted to a request for proposals from architects for the design of a community development of housing, a place of worship, school, daycare, 50 housing units for the independent elderly and condominiums, a jury of architects and orthodox priests has selected two designs. A consortium will be formed between Toronto's Robert Levit and David Olson and Boston's David Choi of CDP/TWC, in order to draw up a more detailed site plan with the consultation of church members.
Finalists are presented here.

Les québécois ISD Studio, basé à Milan,ont obtenu une mention.

I/O MENTION FOR LAMA PROJECT IN KOREA 10.10.2003

The project for the LAMA Cultural complex of Sligo Ireland by I/O Interdisciplinary Office ( Québec ) + Archimago ( Belgium ) received a special mention by the editors of the International Competition magazine CONCEPT in Korea.

All the second round finalists of the Open European Competition were presented in a 40 pages coverage. Yet the winning entry , designed by a local firm, was not presented and is yet to be released to the public more then 6 months after announcement of winners.

FINALISTS OF WTC SELECTED  10.10.2003


The finalists of the largest architecture competition ever held are selected. Z1 will publish them when permitted by the organizers. The finalist will be exhibited on the 19th in NY and it will be reported here on Z1.

Z.one Architecture is a non-profit entity dedicated to promote
contemporary architectural projects built on the Quebec territory
or created by designer s from our nation.

All contemporary design having an impact on built space
is of interest to Z.one Architecture. It may range from architecture, lightscape, landscape, signage ( infoscape ) or lightscape and include object scale projects onto urban planning.

All contribution thru images or text are welcomed.
Since 1996, Z.one has hosted project ro serve as an archive portal on the web as well as opening up to the world thru fequently updated news, competitions listings and design link directory.

The Z.one Architecture initiative is lead by Jean Beaudoin, a Montreal based designer heading the I/O Interdisciplinary Office.
