This document outlines the rules of the international design competition organized in conjunction with the RAIC Architecture Festival which will be held in Montreal from June 19 to June 21 1997.

This is a open design competition of ideas, in one phase, which follows the competition guidelines of the Quebec Order of Architects (OAQ) and which, in addition, has been approved by the OAQ's Competition Committee. This competition will highlight the great potential of the chosen site. As a first step towards the eventual construction of the Place de l'Architecture, the organizers are committed to the promotion of the winning entries to the authorities having jurisdiction on its realization.
